Job summary

Arlington Public Schools is seeking a Specialized Support Paraprofessional at Dallin Elementary School in Arlington, MA. The SSP will assist educators by supporting students in general education and subseparate settings to access the curriculum.

Qualifications include an Associates Degree (Bachelor's preferred), experience with children, strong communication, and ability to work in a team with staff and families. Terms include 183 days, 6.75–7 hours daily, and hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to coordinate with a team including school staff and families.
• Experience supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred training such as Safety Care or Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Responsibilities

• Establish supportive rapport with students.
• Travel to general education classes with students as needed.
• Implement content and behavioral modifications as directed.
• Share information with other staff during breaks.
• Participate in planning meetings and professional development.
