Job summary

Cosentino in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Specialized Stone Artisan to polish, fabricate, and assemble luxury stone surfaces. You will operate polishing equipment to achieve superior finish and work on Dekton and other Cosentino surfaces in a collaborative shop setting.

Requirements include 5+ years in polishing/fabrication of marble, granite, and artificial stone, forklift experience, and a high school diploma. A background with AutoCAD or AlphaCam is a plus; safety and quality are emphasized.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished work against templates, measure dimensions, and mark defects for rework.
• Work with Cosentino stone surfaces including Silestone, Sensa, and Dekton.
• Utilize AutoCAD/AlphaCam programming for Dekton products.

What are we looking for

At Stone Systems ( www.stone-systems.com/) we are looking for aSpecialized Stone Artisan for our Shop located in Atlanta, GA, who will have the opportunity to work in a multinational environment, in full expansion, surrounded by numerous challenging projects that you can be part of.

What you will do

As a Stone Craftsman for Stone Systems you are going to be responsible for operating polishing equipment to obtain excellent polish and luster on parts and products. You will also be for creating, producing, and assembling high-end surface projects. It is expected a highly skilled professional that is able to execute the highest quality standards in stone polishing and fabrication.

Job Expectations

• Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools.
• High-skill polishing of artificial stone for high-end commercial usage.
• Work with stone materials in the following tasks:
• Miter Assembly
• Sink Assembly with artificial stone and Dekton surfaces with bookmatch
• Perform by hand all types of stone edges (sharknose, bullnose, triple pincel, double ogge, etc)
• Perform to a high standard of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality control.
• Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure dimensions stay the same
• Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework.
• Utilize specialized stone-working equipment
• Work on Cosentino proprietary stone surfaces, including Silestone, Sensa, and Scalea, focusing mainly on Cosentino’s proprietary Dekton sintered stone surface.
• Use latest automatic polishing systems, cutters with advanced 3D cutting programs, and programming systems with AutoCad and AlphaCam adapted to the newest Dekton products.
• Work in a collaborative environment by helping coworkers as needed.
• Use personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.) responsibly and as required.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed.

What you need to succeed

EXPERIENCE
Required

• +5 of experience in polishing and fabricating Marble, Granite and artificial stone
• Experience in material polishing for high-end customers (K&B and Commercial)
• Experience operating Forklift
• Experience in Construction, Industrial and Manufacturing fields

EDUCATION
Required

• High School Diploma/GED

KNOWLEDGE
Required

• Basic knowledge of math (adding, subtracting, measurements, etc)
• Basic knowledge of maintenance

SKILLS
Required

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

The starting hourly range for this position is between $18 - 22/hr
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible Potential Annual Award depending on individual performance and Company performance, in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, including Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Short-term and Long-term Disability and Basic Life and Supplemental Insurance. You will also be eligible to enroll in our 401(k) Retirement Plan, starting the first of the month.
Paid time off:
Vacation time will be accrued monthly and will be subject to change per the Company’s policy updates. 5 days of sick time. Full-time employees will receive 2 floating holidays to use each year. If hired after July 1, employees receive 1 floating holiday to use for that calendar year.
