Job summary

Mastery Schools in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Principal of Specialized Services (APSS) On Assignment for a one-year leadership development program toward a permanent APSS role. This position blends campus leadership with strategic network initiatives and focuses on specialized services to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education required.
• PA or NJ certification in special education and administration.
• At least five years of experience in historically under-resourced or diverse school communities.
• Preference given to candidates greenlit through the Mastery Selection Process.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school’s Specialized Services programming (SPED, 504, interventions).
• Lead IEP/504 processes and related evaluations.
• Coordinate Social Work and Mental Health services with partner organizations.
• Provide leadership on the Administrative Team and support staff evaluations.
• Support principal and APs in building a culture of student achievement.
