Job summary

Upper Valley Services (UVS) in Bradford, Vermont, is seeking skilled staff to provide direct support for an individual with interests in art, music, and crafts. You will assist with health, safety, and well‑being, deliver therapeutic supports, and help the person engage with the community while building independent living skills.

Training, shadowing, and de‑escalation techniques are provided. Shifts include 12‑hour or 24‑hour blocks, 8am–8pm and 8pm–8am, with weekends required.

• Support an individual with complex developmental disability, behavioral, and mental health needs.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

Upper Valley Services (UVS) is one of Vermont's designated non-profit agencies serving people with developmental disabilities and adults who are eligible for Adult Family Care. UVS is seeking skilled staff to provide direct support to an individual living in the Bradford area. The individual enjoys art, listening to music, and making crafts. Required support includes assistance to maintain health, safety, and well-being, providing necessary therapeutic supports, communicating wants/needs effectively, engaging in the community to explore interests and foster relationships, increasing independent living skills, and providing personal care as needed. Training and shadowing opportunities will be provided, including de-escalation techniques and Therapeutic Options. The individual requires 2:1 support 8am - 8pm and 1:1 support 8pm - 8am. Available shifts include 12-hour, or 24-hour, based on programming need. Weekends are a must.

The ideal candidate must be able to:

• Remain calm in difficult or emergency situations.
• Support an individual with complex developmental disability, behavioral, and mental health needs.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.

Candidates will undergo a background check, must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
