Job summary

Ocean Network Express North America is seeking a Specialist for Vessel Closeout SYM in Boise, ID. This role blends office and home work with three days in the office weekly to manage vessel closeout tasks and export compliance.

You will reconcile port pairs, ensure containers are loaded correctly, and handle standard and non‑standard closeout issues while interfacing with customers and internal teams. Bachelor's degree preferred and two years’ related experience are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Track containers within rail websites to facilitate shipments and submit reports to US Customs.
  • Respond to routine and non-routine customer inquiries and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Commercial teams; report to Supervisor, Vessel Close Out SYM.

Specialist, Vessel Closeout SYM

Custom Field 1: USA - Boise

Salary Range: $50,000.00 to $56,000.00 Location Boise, ID. This position will follow a hybrid work-from-home/office model with at least three days in the office weekly

Role Summary

This position is responsible for the successful execution of the Vessel Closeout (VCO) process. The specialist will efficiently reconcile port pairs with terminals to ensure that intended containers are loaded onto vessels with all necessary export requirements. Additionally, the role provides expertise on non-standard vessel closeout issues to both internal and external parties, researches and responds to routine and non-routine customer inquiries, and recommends solutions for specialized challenges. Responsibilities also include tracking containers within rail websites to facilitate advancing, rolling, and reducing shipments, and submitting reports to US Customs. The incumbent will track and trace shipper documentation required for vessel loading, collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Commercial teams, and report directly to the Supervisor of Vessel Close Out, SYM.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of reefer, Dangerous Goods (DG), breakbulk shipments, and over-dimensional cargo
  • Familiarity with export rail processes and procedures
  • Solid understanding of U.S. Customs requirements and compliance
  • Strong data-driven analytical and problem-solving skills

ONE NA follows a hybrid work schedule requiring employees to work 3 days in the office (i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote each week.

Salary commensurate with experience means your pay will be directly proportional to your background, skills, and qualifications.
