Specialist, Underwriting Quality Assurance – Life

Overview

We are seeking a full-time, remote Specialist in Underwriting Quality Assurance – Life, with over 4 years of experience in Individual Life Underwriting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Automated and Accelerated Underwriting processes, Post-Issue Audit processes, and strong communication skills. Proficiency in reporting tools like Excel and Tableau is required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Post-Issue Audits: Conduct reviews of issued life insurance policies, verify underwriting decisions, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with stakeholders to address issues, ensuring compliance and continuous process improvement.
  2. Documentation and Reporting: Document audit findings, prepare management reports, and maintain accurate records.
  3. Collaboration and Training: Work with underwriting teams, provide training, and suggest process improvements based on mortality trends.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in finance, mathematics, actuarial science, or business administration (preferred).
  • Working towards certification (e.g., FLMI, ALU) (preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in life insurance underwriting, focusing on post-issue audits.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with underwriting software and knowledge of industry regulations.
Additional Details

Reporting to the Director, this role offers competitive benefits, a salary range of $77,000 to $159,000 (with an expected starting range of $85,500 to $128,500), and a flexible, inclusive work environment. The position is open to candidates across the lower 48 states and adheres to company policies regarding diversity and workplace safety.
