Job summary

Charter Next Generation, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Specialist, Senior Pricing Operations. Thishybrid role requires deep pricing knowledge and a proven ability to manage quote requests, pricing data, and dashboards. You will lead pricing processes, train peers, and support large RFPs while collaborating across teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in pricing/operations within manufacturing, strong Excel and Salesforce skills, and a proactive, confidential approach to data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field with at least 5 years in pricing or pricing operations.
• At least 5 years of pricing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the flexible packaging industry is preferred.
• Strong Excel and Salesforce proficiency; ability to document processes and mentor peers.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and respond to quote requests in Salesforce within 24 hours.
• Pull data for quotes, re-quote expired quotes, and support large RFP submissions.
• Update pricing grids and prices in Salesforce; manage pricing data and dashboards.
• Lead pricing policy discussions, provide SOPs and training, and drive process improvements.
• Serve as SME for pricing tools; assist with day-to-day pricing questions.

What You'll Do

Prioritize and respond to quote requests submitted through Salesforce within 24 hours, which includes:

• Pulling relevant cost and "like-product" sales data to support quote development
• Re-quote expired quotes as needed
• Resolve escalations from Pricing Operations Specialists; escalates to the Director Pricing where needed
• Support the Director Pricing:
• Pull data for large RFP submissions and contract renewal price negotiations
• Support customer base price changes, including notifications and pricing system updates
• Provide backup support for key pricing activities as needed
• Maintain pricing data, contracts, tools and dashboards in internal systems:
• Understand market indices supporting price change calculations
• Update pricing grids and prices within Salesforce
• Serve as a process lead and first point of escalation for the Pricing Operations team:
• Support day-to-day questions related to quoting, pricing policies and systems
• Spot-audit quotes and pricing updates for accuracy and compliance
• Serve as a super user and trainer for pricing systems and processes:
• Train and onboard Pricing Operations Specialists
• Maintain SOPs, job aids and process documentation
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Salesforce and Excel-based pricing tools
• Lead continuous process improvement projects, including requirements definition and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Special projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or other related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing, pricing operations or a related analytical role.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing or a related analytical role in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the flexible packaging industry is preferred.
• Strong financial background is considered a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Salesforce.
• Demonstrated experience acting as a subject matter expert, mentor or trainer to peers.
• Proven ability to document processes and drive consistent adherence to them across a team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
• Must respect and maintain confidentiality of data.
• This is a hybrid role, with minimum of 3 days in office.
