Lanco Group seeks a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to sustain EHS programs at the manufacturing facility. You will lead incident investigations, champion the Safety Observation program, and coordinate onboarding, training, inspections, and environmental compliance tasks.

Qualifications

Job description

This position maintains environmental, occupational health, and safety programs to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. This role is based at the respective manufacturing facility, which welds and assembles components used in cranes and forklifts. This role will lead site incident investigations, will champion our Safety Observation program, and work with the sites to establish incident root causes and implement corrective actions. The role includes ownership of new hire safety onboarding, monthly safety training, safety inspections, and environmental compliance responsibilities. The position works closely with plant managers, supervisors, and local safety committees, while following Corporate HSSE program standards and reporting structures. Occasional travel to other Company manufacturing facilities may be required.

  • Leads new hire safety onboarding and orientation for employees and temporary labor. Leads site orientation and safety expectations for visitors, contractors and emergency response teams. Plans, coordinates, and delivers safety and compliance training programs for the assigned facility.
  • Conducts regular facility safety inspections, including welding/hot work areas, overhead crane and rigging operations, powered industrial truck (forklift) operations, and general shop floor conditions; tracks corrective actions through completion.
  • Ensure facility follows established environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs. Supports annual reviews and updates for assigned policies.
  • Supports the facility’s Workers’ Compensation program, including claims coordination and return-to-work processes. Leads in incident investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
  • Maintains OSHA 300/300A recordkeeping, workplace postings, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) libraries and compliance documentation. Supports compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Develops and maintains Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for manufacturing and operational tasks.
  • Administers inspection and compliance programs for overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and powered industrial trucks, including operator certifications, recertifications, and daily pre-use inspection requirements
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports EHS metrics and performance indicators, including TRIR, DART, near-miss reporting, and other leading and lagging measures; provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitates plant safety committee activities, including meeting coordination, documentation, and action item tracking.
  • Supports organizational projects and continuous improvement initiatives from an EHS perspective.
  • Promotes a strong safety culture through production engagement. This would include hazard assessments, employee and management coaching, behavioral safety programs and observation reporting initiatives.
Qualification Guidelines
Education and Expereince
  • Bachelor's in safety, environmental health, or related field
  • 1-3 years in safety, manufacturing, or production
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Basic familiarity with environmental compliance concepts (e.g., SPCC,) or willingness to learn
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
