Job summary

Jones Day seeks an Information Governance Risk Specialist to support the Firm’s data governance and information risk operations under the Information Privacy Manager. You will work with a cross‑functional team to ensure compliance, monitor workflows, and resolve data loss events.

The role emphasizes teamwork and clear communication, with adherence to documented processes. You will interact with governance teammates, technical staff, process owners, and project managers to advance data protection

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of related work experience in data governance, data management, information risk, or data loss prevention operations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, SharePoint or Smartsheet.
• Demonstrated understanding of information governance, data management, and data lifecycles.
• Experience using Power BI, designing workflows in ServiceNow GRC and working with Microsoft Purview – Information Protection/Governance modules or other data visualization or workflow tools, highly desired.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview capabilities such as Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, sensitivity labels, sensitive information types, trainable classifiers, Content Search, and Endpoint DLP is preferred.

The Specialist’s responsibilities include operational support for data governance workflows, monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution, including processes related to data loss events. The Specialist also demonstrates success in teamwork, effective communication, and following documented processes to accomplish goals. The Specialist interacts regularly with information governance team members, technical staff, process owners, and project managers.
