Job summary

181 SEI Global Services, Inc. is seeking an Investment Manager Services Specialist I to support Operations Integrity and Quality Control. The role rotates through IMS units to understand operations, assess risks, and strengthen internal controls with management across SEI.

You will assist with audits, process improvements, and SOC1 readiness while collaborating with stakeholders to enhance efficiency and accuracy in fund operations.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business, accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA, MBA or MS Accounting/Finance or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of fund accounting, operations, auditing, risk management or compliance experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of risks and controls to develop and execute audit programs.

Job description

The Investment Manager Services (IMS) Division at SEI is growing rapidly and is seeking new members to join our business unit. Our primary goal is to provide exceptional administration servicing for our clients’ assigned alternative investment funds, mutual funds, or ETFs. As the Specialist I within the Operations Integrity and Quality Control Team, you will be responsible for ensuring effective controls are in place for all Operations teams and business units operating within IMS, along with assisting with process improvement.

What you’ll do:

You will rotate throughout each IMS business unit to understand its operations and significant processes. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing its inventory of critical internal controls. You will frequently liaise with key members of Operations teams (including management) within each IMS business unit to perform various risks assessments on its current business and operations, including any changes, to identify, develop and implement process and technology enhancements to mitigate risks and increase efficiency. You will assist in executing initiatives and projects aligned to the Operations Risks and Operations Management Teams with varying levels of scope and complexity to support our growth and work collaboratively with all stakeholders both within IMS and across SEI to manage day-to-day business risks. You will collaborate with the Manager to regularly communicate to management on the team’s project objectives, status and outcomes. Document project deliverables (i.e., creating reports, presentations, business cases and diagrams) as necessary. You will assist in developing and executing audit plans to test the operating effectiveness of internal controls, the accuracy of financial records and compliance to each Operations teams’ policies and procedures. You will recommend and help facilitate training opportunities for various Operations teams based on learning needs identified as a result of risk assessments and audits performed in addition to best practices observed from other IMS business units. The role will also be responsible for assisting the Operations teams to ensure readiness for SOC1 reporting as well as other regulatory/client reporting programs supporting hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, collective investment trusts and other investment products serviced by IMS. This role requires a self‑motivated, goal-oriented individual to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive delivery schedule and also involves extensive communication with Operations teams, management and stakeholders within IMS and across SEI. What we need from you:

BS/BA degree in business, accounting, finance or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience CPA, MBA or MS Accounting/Finance or advanced degree preferred Minimum 2 years of fund accounting or operations experience, auditing, risk management or compliance experience a plus. Knowledge and awareness of applicable laws, rules and standards of Investment Management industry Demonstrate a strong understanding of risks and controls in order to independently develop and execute audit programs. Demonstrate knowledge of mutual funds, alternative investment products and structures, operational experience a plus. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze issues quickly and independently and take appropriate action under tight time constraints. Ability to work independently and with others in an effective and professional manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills as you will primarily support Operations and management teams across all IMS business units.
