Job summary

The Royal Liverpool site hosts a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist role within the Specialist Coagulation Laboratory. You will support coagulation analyses, validate results, and liaise with medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Qualified as an experienced State Registered Biomedical Scientist.
• HCPC registration is essential for the post.
• Knowledge of COSHH, Data Protection Act and radiation safety.
• Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to supervise and train colleagues in a busy lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialist haematology and transfusion analyses.
• Validate results, authorise tests and liaise with medical staff.
• Set up and check instrumentation; troubleshoot faults.
• Maintain quality control and data integrity in LIS.
• Provide guidance to trainees and support staff; contribute to service development.
