Job summary

Vail Resorts seeks a Winter Seasonal Fitness Instructor to deliver classes, certify in scope of practice, and uphold safety standards for guests. You will operate within established schedules, maintain equipment, and respond to guest inquiries while collaborating with the resort team.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, Fitness Instruction and CPR/First Aid certifications, and the ability to stand for long periods.

• Certification(s) in Fitness Instruction is required.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
• Ability to effectively present detailed information to guests and employees.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Have complete knowledge/certification of your area of instruction.
• Practice only within your scope of training credentials.
• Maintain professional relationships with fitness clientele.
• Complete sign-in procedures and release forms for each class.
• Begin and end all classes on time per the schedule.
• Keep work areas clean and fitness rooms organized according to safety standards.
• Follow universal health and safety precautions and sanitary procedures.
• Frequent checks of equipment and facility to ensure safety.
• Know resort services and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries.
• Comply with resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.
• Uphold the Professional Code of Ethics.
• Maintain a regular schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Assist training of new fitness instructors as requested.

Job Specifications:

• Starting Wage: $22.00/hr - $28.60/hr
• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
• Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

• Have complete knowledge/Certification(s) of your area of instruction.

• Frequent checks of equipment and facility to ensure safety and prevent loss of equipment.
• Maintain storage areas to ensure cleanliness, care, and organization.
• Be familiar with all resort services/ features and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries.
• Comply with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.
• Comply with all state and national standards for Fitness Professions.
• Uphold the Professional Code of Ethics to the highest standard.
• Works well within the fitness center/spa team environment.
• Be able to maintain a regular schedule; including weekends and holidays as needed
• Performs any additional tasks or projects as required including assisting in training new fitness instructors as requested.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma orequivalent.-required
• Certification(s) in Fitness Instruction -required
• CPR/First Aid Certification-required
• Ability to effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to guests and employees throughout the organization.-required
• Must bewilling to work weekends and holidays.-required
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.-required
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in fitness profession-preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.-required

The expected pay range is$22.00/hr - $28.60/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
