Job summary

Schaeffler Group USA Inc. in Cheraw, South Carolina, is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies, ensuring regulatory compliance across facilities, processes, and equipment.

You will conduct audits, identify hazards, train teams, and drive continuous improvement through risk assessment, incident investigation, and safe operating practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS management, sustainability or a related role.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental protection, occupational health, and safety (OSHA).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, assess risks, and implement effective controls.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve EHS objectives.
• External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.

Required

Your Qualifications

Preferred

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment


• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems


• Experience conducting environmental impact assessments and managing environmental permits


• Experience with incident investigation techniques such as root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)


• Experience with implementing behavior-based safety (BBS) programs
