Job Description
Purpose

Under the direction of the EHS Manager, provide support to the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in compliance with all applicable regulations and AbbVie policies in a cost-effective manner, aligning with customer expectations. Provide guidance on EHS matters to employees and contractors, exercising communication, training, and consultation skills to successfully implement programs, policies, and foster a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop, implement support, and maintain strategic EHS programs, plans, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, facilities, and the environment.
  2. Interpret, communicate, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, corporate standards, and ISO 45001 standards.
  3. Implement EHS programs and initiatives, including hazard identification/risk assessment, high hazard control measures (lockout/tagout, confined space, work permits, etc.), and contractor/construction EHS management.
  4. Support incident and injury investigations to determine root causes, promote discussion, and recommend appropriate actions.
  5. Develop and deliver EHS training on various safety topics.
  6. Support Industrial Hygiene programs such as ergonomics, hazard communication, hearing conservation, medical surveillance, respiratory protection, and IH monitoring.
  7. Lead EHS self-assessments and hazard assessments, collecting inputs and promoting discussions for appropriate actions.
  8. Implement elements of the Chemical Process Safety Program to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to AbbVie standards.
  9. Support reporting of safety performance indicators to drive corrective actions.
  10. Develop recordkeeping and report systems to support regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing environmental, health, and safety programs ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
