Job summary
Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Specialist Biomedical Scientist (AFC Band 6) in Biochemistry. The post requires HCPC registration and progression towards a Specialist Portfolio.
Work will involve 24/7 shift rota and support for ISO15189 accreditation across a large hub laboratory serving Leeds Teaching Hospitals and the community. Qualifications
- ,HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist with IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Biochemistry.
- Experience at Band 6 level in Biochemistry or working towards Specialist Portfolio.
- Ability to participate in 24/7 shift rota.
- Full or part-time applications considered.
Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of specialist clinical technical investigations.
- Registered Biomedical Scientist with HCPC.
- Hold/working towards a Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Be flexible for unsocial hours and participate in our 24/7 rota.
- Communicate highly complex information to colleagues, healthcare staff and other organisations.
- Assist in day-to-day running of the laboratory, QC and EQA authorisation and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain CPD and competencies; provide supervision to junior staff.
- Support ISO15189 accreditation and service improvement.
