Summary
To assist staff in providing recreation programs for individuals with disabilities in their communities while promoting a safe and enjoyable recreation experience. Inclusion Aides will work1:1 with individuals with disabilities of various abilities and agesin the Joliet Park District programs (before/after school program, preschool, summer camp, gymnastics etc.) blending in and working alongside park district staff. The goal of inclusion is to help the registrant participate in the least restrictive environment with peers without disabilities. As an aide, you will assist one or more individual(s) who has requested special assistance to participate in the program in which they registered. This involves but is not limited to; assisting the individuals with social skills, personal care needs, understanding and following rules and directions and/or modifying an activity so they can participate.

Work environment
This job will be performed indoors in a temperature controlled setting. At times, job tasks will include participating outdoors with varying weather conditions. Work environment may be loud at times.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; tasted and smell; and carry materials. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
