Job summary

  • Analyze obsolete inventory, assess risks, and communicate trends.
  • Report stolen or missing equipment per policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic internal inventory audits and coordinate equipment procurement and inventory control.

Job Summary

The Special Program Aid, under supervision, will be responsible for the inventory in the Health Science Division building and laboratory equipment physical inventory ensuring that inventory is properly received, recorded, tagged, delivered, closely monitored, and disposed of in accordance with retention policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in management, review, and hosting inventory transaction database system through receiving, affixing, and recording inventory tags.
  • Assists in development and conducting of daily cycle counting procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinates annual physical inventories.
  • Analyzes obsolete inventory, calculates inventory risks, and communicates trends.
  • Reports stolen or missing equipment in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Conducts periodic internal inventory audits.
  • Coordinates equipment procurement and inventory control.
  • Reconciles discrepancies in inventory and receives quantities from stores and vendors.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience – One year of related experience.
  • May not be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University.
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge of: Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to: Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Position requires keeping a work schedule of 19 hours per week.
  • Position requires face-to-face interactions on campus.
  • Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
  • Position may require moving and lifting moderately objects and materials, as necessary.
  • Subject to funding and/or need.
Pay

Pay of Rate: $17.00 per hour for up 19 hours weekly
