Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas seeks a Special Program Aid (COE) to support the College of Education with general administrative tasks and state educator certification reporting. Under supervision, you will handle clerical duties, maintain confidential records, coordinate calendars, and assist faculty and staff.

This temporary, on-campus role may require evenings or weekends and is contingent on funding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • One year of related experience required.
  • Must not be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Texas A&M International University.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support to identified by the department, usesound, independent judgment when performing duties.
  • Assist in maintaining current and confidential records andinformation.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with faculty,administrative, and classified staff.
  • Keep calendars and reports related to appointments andrequests.
  • Meet regularly with the administrative and staff in the collegefor staff meetings, training, and/or workshops.
  • Complete required Title II Reports for accreditationpurposes.
  • Process Certification requests for teacher certification andnon-teacher certification.
  • Input Clinical Experience Records for teacher candidates andnon-teacher candidates.
  • Input Observations for teacher candidates and non-teachercandidates.
  • Maintain Student Enrollment status: other enrolled, finisher,and removed for teacher candidates and non-teacher candidates.
  • Clear past graduates for additional needed courses and/ortesting.
  • Creating completion letters for finishers that are only pendingcertification exam(s).
  • Remove students on ECOS for students who have left EPP programsbefore completing.
  • Complete Transfers forms for removed student as requested.

Job Summary

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Bachelor's degree
  • Experience - One year of related experience.
  • May not be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at TexasA&M International University.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to:
  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Pay of Rate

$21.11/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
