Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, NC is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist in invasive angiography and interventional procedures within the Interventional Radiology Suite. You will perform surgical scrub, circulate during procedures, and provide total patient care before, during, and after interventions.

Responsibilities include fluoroscopic coverage under physician direction, patient preparation, medication/contrast handling, and accurate reporting of hemodynamic data

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology program.
• Completion of ARRT/RCIS Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program required.
• Registered and certified by ARRT or RCIS; CPR certification required.
• ACLS preferred.

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under physician direction.
• Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
• Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.
• Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
• Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
• Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.

The function of the Interventional Radiology Technologist is to assist in the various invasive Angio, and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite. Responsible for surgical scrub and circulation duties, performing total patient care during and post the procedure, while the patient is in the Interventional Radiology area.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology. Completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required or an ARRT/RCIS graduate from a Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program

Certification / License

Registered and certified by the ARRT or RCIS required. CPR certification required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Must meet all required elements of competency checklist for level.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons. Exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined working area. Normal vision, manual dexterity and good eye and hand coordination is necessary to operate equipment. Constant concentration required during procedures.

Preferred Job Requirements

Education

1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.

Certification / License

ACLS preferred
