Job summary

Great River Health Systems in West Burlington, IA, is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate stationary radiographic equipment in the Heart and Vascular Center for diagnostic imaging.

You will produce high-quality images, follow radiation safety protocols, position patients, and document examinations. The role requires ARRT Iowa license and radiology training, with on-call weekends. Competitive benefits and sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT license in Iowa required.
  • 1 year cath lab experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years healthcare experience in the last 3 years preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of X-ray, fluoroscopy, vascular and cardiac procedures.
  • Ability to provide safe patient care and comfort.
  • Familiar with English language and grammar.
  • Understanding of radiation safety and protection.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Review and evaluate developed x-rays, or computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
  • Key commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain images.
  • Operate or oversee operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
  • Record, process and maintain x rays and patient data, treatment records, and prepare reports.
  • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
