Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area in Corpus Christi, TX, seeks a Special Procedures Lead to oversee radiologic procedures and lead quality improvement initiatives. The role collaborates with imaging leadership, physicians, and radiologists to ensure safe, efficient care for patients across ages.

The position requires an Associate Degree, CPR/BLS within 30 days, ARRT-R Radiography and RT Radiologic Technologist credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Supports imaging leadership and physicians to deliver quality care.
  • Maintains a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment.
  • Develops and supervises a quality improvement program.
  • Monitors imaging care quality, safety, and radiation procedures.
  • Ensures all pertinent data is communicated to the Circulating Nurse and physician.
  • Assists in emergency situations as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Performs Radiologic Procedures at a technical level which does not require supervision and assumes the responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Maintains an efficient, safe and pleasant work environment. Assist the imaging Leadership, affiliated Physicians and Radiologist in providing quality, efficient care for patients. Develop and supervise a quality improvement program. To monitor Imaging aspects of care in the Medical Imaging Facility. This includes but not limited to Diagnostic imaging with X-Ray, quality control, transportation, radiation safety support and other related duties. The Lead Technologist will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to all ages of patients including pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy.
  • Is aware of resources available for ethical concerns and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Practices cost-efficiently.
  • Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards, as evidenced by annual validation processes.
  • Utilizes specialized knowledge and skill to perform job requirements.
  • Demonstrates appropriate skills for assigned area/task.
  • Familiarizes self with the appropriate procedure before beginning the case.
  • Assists in emergency situations.
  • Ensures that all pertinent data is communicated to the Circulating Nurse and the physician.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Associate Degree
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers, or Heart Saver CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography, and (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
