Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking a Special Populations Specialist to support compliance, curriculum, and instruction for students with diverse learning needs. You will work with instructional staff, regional teams, and campus personnel to ensure high-quality individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.

Responsibilities include coaching, data analysis, and professional development focused on MTSS, compliance, and best practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience teaching with a focus on special education services
• Knowledge of MTSS, 504, and the 13 eligibility categories under IDEA
• Knowledge of content standards and assessments
• Experience in analyzing and implementing Federal, State and Local Special Education regulations, policies and procedures
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching to school-based special education managers and staff across MTSS, 504, and Special Education.
• Support special populations compliance across the organization.
• Identify schools and teachers needing hands-on support and offer planning time and office hours.
• Translate instructional priorities into actionable steps for campus staff.
• Deliver and record model lessons and provide feedback.
• Analyze MTSS, 504, and ARD compliance data to guide improvement.
• Monitor ARD paperwork and accompanying data for IEPs, BIPs, and transitions.
• Collaborate with Senior Directors and teams to ensure consistent support network-wide.
• Develop and deliver professional development on instructional strategies and compliance.
• Assist in TEA complaints resolution and maintain compliant IEPs/504 plans.
