Job summary

Mid-Del Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities in a Special Education or General Education setting. The candidate must understand a wide range of disabilities, including IEP services and MTSS. Compliance, confidentiality and communication are essential.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with parents and staff, and maintaining accurate progress reports and district/state paperwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required.
• Special Education teaching certificate required (Mild/Moderate or Severe/Profound).
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and provides instruction to meet IEP services.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for a functional learning environment.
• Evaluates pupils progress and prepares reports per IEP and district requirements.
• Communicates with parents through IEP conferences and other means.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities.
• Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities per schedule.
• Completes district and state special education paperwork on time.
• Works with General Education teachers to provide accommodations for students with IEPs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
