Houston Classical Charter School is seeking a Special Populations Fellow to support scholars with diverse learning needs and emergent bilingual learners. Fellows collaborate with SPED teachers, Emergent Bilingual teams, and general education staff to deliver targeted academic, language, and behavioral support for students.

You will help create an inclusive classroom, monitor progress data, and communicate with families, including translation support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Prior SPED or Emergent Bilingual experience strongly preferred.
• Bilingual skills are highly preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA and TEA EL guidelines; training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse learners and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
• Open to coaching and growth.

Responsabilités

• Support Special Education teachers in delivering instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Support emergent bilingual scholars during classroom instruction to reinforce language development.
• Provide one-on-one or small group academic support inside and outside the classroom.
• Implement behavior intervention plans under guidance of Special Education staff.
• Assist in accommodations and modifications for access to the curriculum.
• Collect and track scholar progress data, with accurate documentation.
