Job Title: Special Police Officer (SPO) (Security Officer)

Location: Washington, DC, United States of America

Salary: $27.50 per hour

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform entrance control: Enforce building entry protocols, operate security screening equipment, and check items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, and packages.
2. Perform roving patrol: Patrol facilities and grounds as per post orders.
3. Perform stationary post assignments: Monitor security equipment like CCTV, alarm systems, and respond to security incidents.
4. Perform escort duties: Provide armed escort services for designated individuals when required.
5. Enforce law and order: Detain unauthorized persons and prevent acts that threaten safety and security.
6. Prepare reports and records: Document incidents, labor hours, accidents, and other relevant activities.
7. Preserve order: Maintain security presence, enforce rules, and protect client property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Security experience: 4+ years (preferred)
• Armed Security experience: 2+ years (required)

Licenses and Certifications

• Driver's License
• Valid DC Special Police Officer License issued by SOMB
• Current CPR Certification
• Current MEB (Extendable Baton) Certification
• 9mm firearm certification

Work Environment

On-site, not remote.
