Chickasaw Nation in Ada, OK is seeking a Special Needs Assistant I to join our Child Wellness SNAP team. This full-time position supports children with special needs and collaborates with teaching staff to deliver quality care and education.

Qualifikationen

• Essential: 2 years directly related experience
• Essential: High School, GED or Equivalent
• Essential: Pass general background check
• Essential: Standard Driver's License

Aufgaben

• Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
• Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
• Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
• Maintains and promotes professionalism
• Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
• Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
• Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
• Implements objectives and goals set forth on the IEP and/or IFSP for children with identified disabilities and/or special needs
• Receives guidance from qualified personnel to implement techniques that support and aide the achievement of IEP/IFSP objectives and goals
• Communicates student progress toward IEP/IFSP goals and objectives and works with staff as directed in modification of those goals and objectives
• Assists the teacher in modification of lesson plans, activities and instructional aids for children with special needs to aid in academic and developmental areas such as music, art, language, cognitive skills, nutrition, health, culture and organized play using a variety of methods
• Maintains and ensures availability of a safe indoor and outdoor environment for children with special needs
• Assists in classroom arrangement in order to ensure students with special needs are adequately accommodated
• Assists in preparing impacted students for changes in environment or schedules
• Assists with appropriate modifications to work toward social and emotional development and reports progress, as directed
• Immediately reports any potential health and well-being concerns of students (i.e. abuse, neglect) as required by law
• Attends trainings and meetings as directed
• Assist with behavioral needs of children in classroom environment, as needed
• Performs all other duties as assigned
