Job summary

Crossroads Youth & Family Services, Inc. is seeking a Special Needs Assistant for its Main Street Head Start in Norman, OK.

The role focuses on creating a welcoming, stimulating environment for children with disabilities and supporting Head Start activities in the classroom and playground. The ideal candidate will have early childhood experience, college credits in development, or a CDA credential, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits in early child development or related courses.
• One year of full-time early childhood experience in a licensed program plus college credits.
• Current CDA credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a warm, engaging learning environment for children with disabilities.
• Support Head Start curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assist with lesson planning, classroom displays, and family involvement.
• Observe and document children’s development and communicate with Lead Teacher.
