Job summary

Everman ISD is seeking a School Bus Assistant to support the driver in safely transporting students, including those with disabilities, to and from schools and designated locations.

The role requires following written and verbal instructions, effective communication, and adherence to safety procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required, with two years' experience with students preferred and a probationary period of two months at the start of the school year.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience working with students (preferred).
• Ability to read a map preferred.
• Training on emergency evacuation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate school bus equipment and assist driver with route adherence.
• Supervise and manage student behavior during boarding, riding, and alighting.
• Assist in safety checks and reporting incidents or hazards.
• Attend required training for special needs students and maintain binder with student and bus information.
