Job summary

Everman ISD is seeking a Bus Assistant to support the driver in safely transporting students on assigned routes. The role includes assisting students with disabilities, supervising boarding and alighting, and ensuring vehicle safety before and after trips.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and being at least 21 years old, with two years of experience with students preferred. Training on special needs transportation is provided.

Qualifications

• Educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Two years' experience working with students preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver to follow route and schedules and operate special needs equipment.
• Help students board and alight safely, supervise behavior, and enforce rules.
• Inspect the bus for safety before and after operation and report issues.
• Report accidents, vehicle damage, injuries, and complete required reports.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bus and required equipment.
• Communicate with transportation office using two-way radio and attend training.
