Granbury Transportation Department in Granbury, Texas is seeking a Bus Attendant to assist the driver in safely transporting students with disabilities. This role emphasizes protecting student safety, supervising boarding and crossing, and adapting to each child’s medical and emotional needs.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and CPR certification. Candidates should be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work as part of a team with the driver and school staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate safety/adaptive equipment.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.

Responsabilités

• Lift and carry students with disabilities on and off the bus.
• Supervise students as they board, leave the bus, and cross streets.
• Adapt to each student’s medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs.
• Manage student behavior and report discipline problems to the administrator.
• Communicate with teachers and parents daily regarding student behavior on the bus.
• Become familiar with routes to and from school to assist the driver.
• Maintain and update route schedule.
• Supervise use of seat belts, harnesses or car seats by students.
• Follow emergency procedures and assist driver with first aid if necessary.
• Operate equipment according to safety procedures.
• Follow procedures to perform duties including lifting and assisting students.
