Job summary

Crystal Lake School District 47 has an opening for a Building Paraprofessional at Glacier Ridge Elementary School. The role supports students across academic, behavioral, language and physical needs, collaborating with teachers and staff to implement IEP/504 plans and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities include assisting with bus, recess, lunch, and classroom activities, and providing data recording and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Valid ISBE Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval.
• Basic knowledge of technology and willingness to learn.
• Desire to work with students with special needs.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and their records.
• Understand basic elements of an IEP, Safety Plans and 504 Plans.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with teachers, staff, support services and students.
• Collaborate and foster teamwork.
• Maintain anecdotal notes and data recording as needed.
• Assist with IEP goals and behavioral strategies as directed by staff.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, language and/or physical needs.
• Provide supervision during bus, recess, lunch, and transitions.
