Job summary

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional - ASPIRE to provide instructional and support services under teacher supervision. This role supports students' academic, behavioral, language and/or physical needs in various classroom settings.

The paraprofessional will communicate with teachers and staff, maintain data, assist with IEP goals, monitor students during routines, and help with behavioral interventions while upholding confidentiality and ethical

Qualifications

• Valid ISBE Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval.
• CPI Certification may be required.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and records.
• Understand basic elements of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Responsibilities

• Communicate with teachers, staff, support services and students.
• Collaborate and foster teamwork.
• Maintain anecdotal notes and data recording as needed.
• Assist with implementing test accommodations/modifications during assessments.
• Assist with feeding skills under supervision and training.
• Assist student(s) to complete lesson activities and assignments.
• Provide physical assistance for toileting and related needs when required.
• Support students during bus, recess, lunch, and field trips as needed.
