Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking an Instructional Assistant for the IU PVA Educational Center in Philadelphia. This on-site role supports students with special needs, assists teachers, monitors progress, and helps with daily routines and safety.

Position features include part-time hours, salary based on degree/experience, and benefits such as medical coverage, PSERS retirement, and tuition reimbursement. Locations may rotate among several Philadelphia sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree or 48 credits preferred.
• Experience with special needs population preferred.
• Experience with behavioral/emotional issues preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-on-one tutoring or support for students with special needs.
• Monitor progress using behavior charts and data.
• Assist classroom teacher with duties and material prep.
• Attend specials with assigned class or student.
• Transport students to and from bathrooms, nurse, admin offices, etc.
• Assist with arrival and dismissal related to transportation.
• Aid daily hygiene including diapering/toileting; lifting may be required.
• Provide a safe, welcoming environment for all students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
