Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking part-time Instructional Assistants to support a basic skills program and assist educators in daily classroom duties. Responsibilities include one-on-one tutoring, progress monitoring, and aiding with lesson materials across several Philadelphia area locations.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma and preferably an associate degree or 48 college credits; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education OR 48 credits preferred.
• Experience with special needs population preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual tutoring or one-on-one support for students with special needs.
• Assist progress monitoring of students, including behavior charts and data.
• Support classroom teacher with assigned duties, including preparation of materials.
• Attend specials with assigned class or individual student.
• Transport students to/from bathrooms, nurse, admin offices, etc.
• Assist with daily hygiene of students; lifting may be required.
• Provide a safe, welcoming environment for all students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
