Job summary

ECS4Kids seeks a Special Needs Assistant to provide individualized classroom support for children with special needs in our Florida centers. You will help students participate in activities, apply Conscious Discipline guidance, and collaborate with teachers to promote growth.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with DCF 45-hour training, and either a CDA/FCCPC credential or an associate degree with related experience. Two years of relevant training may substitute.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and DCF 45-hour training completed.
• CDA or FCCPC credential or an associate degree with related experience.
• Two years of relevant training and ECE classroom experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to assigned children to participate in activities.
• Use Conscious Discipline guidance to support emotional and instructional needs.
• Assist Teacher by keeping children engaged during large group activities.
• Interact with children to extend play and learning.
• Assist in assessments and documentation for assigned children.
• Maintain a warm, nurturing environment and uphold program policies.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain records and confidentiality; follow safety and reporting procedures.
