Job summary

ECS4Kids is hiring a Special Needs Assistant to provide individualized classroom support for children with special needs across multiple centers in Florida. You will use CLASS-based strategies to promote emotional and instructional development and collaborate with teachers to keep students engaged.

Qualifications

Knowledge of child growth and development and developmentally appropriate practices.
Knowledge of the effects of trauma on children’s development.
Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized support to assigned children to help them participate in classroom activities.
Use teaching strategies aligned with CLASS philosophy in emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support.
Assist teachers by keeping children engaged during large group activities.
Interact with children to extend play and learning.
Maintain records and confidentiality.
