Job summary

Community Action Partnership of North Alabama is seeking a Classroom Aide-Ratchford (Blount County), a temporary role in Oneonta, Alabama. The aide will assist with meeting the special needs of the classroom and provide extra support to children and teaching staff.

The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to lift up to 75 pounds, and work closely with families while maintaining safety and program standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• May substitute classroom, food service, or custodial staff depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support the special needs of the classroom
• Care for young children with various mental, physical or social challenges
• Support staff in achieving program outcomes
• Meet all Performance Standard expectations
• Lift children up to 75 pounds
• Move about classroom/playground as needed
• Communicate with parents and staff about child’s needs and progress
• Observe and share information on behavior, progress, and challenges
• Monitor activity to ensure safety and well-being
