Job summary

Roosevelt School District 66 is seeking a Classroom/Student Aide to support students in school classrooms, focusing on personal health, hygiene and learning tasks. The role includes assisting teachers, guiding students, and maintaining records in a dynamic classroom setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid certification, and experience with special needs students. This is a nine-month, hourly position within the district's elementary and special education

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency required.
CPR and First Aid certificates required.
Experience with severely handicapped students preferred.
Ability to follow directions and work with teachers.

Responsibilities

Assists pre-school and elementary school students with personal health, hygiene and learning tasks; aids teachers as requested.
Guides students to and from facilities; monitors conduct; takes attendance and records data.
Documents issues and completes required reports; assists with clerical duties as needed.
Assists students with hygiene and self-help tasks such as feeding, toileting and dressing.
Assists special-needs students with positioning and movement using equipment as needed.
Cleans and sanitizes rooms, surfaces, toys and other areas as needed.
Assists students with learning tasks and IEPs; communicates with parents and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
