Job summary

Roosevelt School District 66 is seeking a Classroom/Student Aide to assist students in classrooms with personal health, hygiene and learning tasks and to support teachers.

The role involves guiding students, monitoring behavior, assisting with IEP tasks, and communicating with parents while maintaining confidentiality. CPR/First Aid certification is required; the position is nine months with hourly pay under the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with severely handicapped or learning disabled individuals preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers and staff.
• Strong communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with personal health, hygiene and learning tasks.
• Support teachers and supervise students during class, transitions, meals and recess.
• Document issues and complete required reports daily.
• Assist with positioning and movement using assistive equipment as needed.
• Clean and sanitize rooms and materials.
• Communicate with parents and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Enforce district policies and report concerns to supervisor or Principal.
• Transport equipment to teachers.
