Job summary

Casa Grande Elementary School District Transportation in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a full-time Bus Driver to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips. You will ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and student safety during loading and unloading from buses.

Responsibilities include advising students on behavior, responding to incidents, attending trainings, and performing inspections. Starting pay is $19.40 per hour for a 10-month position with benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Pre-placement Physical Exam required.
• Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance required.
• Random drug testing will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Drives school bus(es) on scheduled routes and field trips.
• Advises students and passengers of appropriate behavior.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections including fluids and tires.
• Fuels and maintains assigned vehicle as needed.
• Reports incidents and disciplinary matters to appropriate personnel.
• Supervises students during transit and assists other personnel as required.

Job Description

The job of the Bus Driver is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions; ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses.

Responsibilities include:

• Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior


• Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations


• Assists students and other passengers


• Attends meetings, trainings, etc.


• Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior; conducts emergency evacuation drills


• Drives school bus(es)


• Fuels assigned vehicle, (e.g. oil, water, fuel, etc.)


• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, (e.g. fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.)


• Prepares documents and reports, (e.g. field trip reports, incident reports, inspection records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, etc.)


• Reports observations and/or incidents, (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.)


• Responds to inquires, (e.g. students, parents, other school personnel, etc.)


• Supervises students and other passengers during transit


• Assists other personnel as may be required

Experience is desired. Full time with Benefits - 25-40 hrs. per week. $19.40 Depending on Experience; w/Certificate. The District trains new bus drivers.
