Job summary

Vivalon is seeking a Special Needs Attendant to support adult clients with disabilities during transit in San Rafael, CA. The role assists drivers to ensure safe, respectful, and comfortable transportation.

Hourly pay starts at $21/hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week and a Monday–Friday schedule. Full training is provided, along with a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Friendly, reliable, and committed to excellent customer service.
• Genuine desire to help others and support individuals with disabilities.
• Valid California Driver’s License or California ID Card.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to attend a 5-day paid training in San Rafael, CA (commute stipend provided).
• Provide two professional references.
• Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with random testing per federal regulations.
• Ability to pass a background check (Safety Sensitive position).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist clients during transit.
• Support drivers with safe loading and unloading of passengers.
• Properly use safety restraints, wheelchair securements, and seat belts.
• Demonstrate empathy and understanding for individuals with disabilities.
• Maintain professional and respectful interactions with clients, coworkers, and community members.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate client concerns to drivers and management.
