Job summary

Vivalon is hiring a Special Needs Attendant to support adults with disabilities during community transportation services in San Francisco, CA. You will work with professional drivers to ensure safe, comfortable, and dignified travel, contributing to meaningful daily impacts in a nonprofit setting.

The role offers paid training, a Monday–Friday schedule, guaranteed hours, and opportunities to grow with a trusted community organization. Starting wage is competitive at $22.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Friendly, reliable, and committed to excellent customer service.
• Genuine desire to help others and support individuals with disabilities.
• Valid California Driver’s License or California ID Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to attend a 5-day paid training program in San Rafael, CA (commute stipend provided).
• Two professional references.
• Ability to pass a background check for this safety-sensitive position.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and federal random testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and assisting clients during transit.
• Supporting drivers with safe loading and unloading of passengers.
• Using wheelchair securements, safety restraints, and seat belts properly.
• Providing compassionate support to individuals with disabilities.
• Communicating passenger needs and concerns to drivers and management.
• Maintaining professional, respectful interactions with clients, coworkers, and community members.
• Following all health, safety, and transportation procedures.
