Job summary

The YMCA of South Florida is seeking qualified Teachers to join the Broward Youth Development Team for Special Needs sites in Broward County. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or higher with a valid Florida Teaching Certificate, and 1–3 years of experience in licensed childcare or day camps.

Responsibilities include delivering academic instruction, planning activities, maintaining safety, documenting progress, and adhering to licensing and YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and possess a valid Florida Teaching Certificate.
• One (1) year to three (3) years of experience in a licensed childcare/day‑camp facility which includes direct contact with children.
• The Certified Teacher of the after‑school program facility must be at least twenty‑one (21) years‑old at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Academic instruction and program enrichment including delivery of curriculum and homework assistance for 15–20 children.
• Plan, supervise and implement activities for an assigned group of children per licensing and YMCA policies.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and proper staff‑to‑child ratios; report incidents to Site Supervisor.
