Job summary

W. W. Norton & Company in New York City is seeking a Sales Assistant to join the Special Markets team.

This full-time role supports day-to-day operations, assists with sales and marketing initiatives, and helps drive growth across multiple business models and customer types. You will liaise with Norton imprints and client publishers, process invoices, analyze sales data, manage FAIRE & MarketTime platforms, and coordinate catalog development.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel year-round by car, plane and train to attend trade shows.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day administrative tasks including organizing meetings, helping with presentation prep, and processing invoices
• Extract and analyze sales data from multiple sources including internal and external databases
• Assist with maintaining FAIRE & MarketTime sales platforms
• Coordinate sales material development and distribution
• Help with bi-annual catalog creation
• Complete email sales outreach and sample copy mailings
• Respond to customer and commissioned gift rep queries and requests
• Attend seasonal gift shows
• Work as part of a team in supporting the goals of our larger sales division
