This position is responsible for processing and supporting specialized loan servicing functions, maintaining accurate loan information, and assisting borrowers with servicing-related requests and inquiries, both over the phone and in person. The Special Loans Analyst I plays an important role in supporting loan maintenance activities, regulatory requirements, investor servicing functions, customer communications, and operational support efforts while helping UHC fulfill its mission of serving Utah's housing needs through finance and innovation.

This Special Loans Analyst I reports to the Mortgage Servicing Department and is classified as a non-exempt position. The Special Loans Analyst I position pays between $$18.77 and $24.55 hourly, depending on education and experience. The Special Loans Analyst I processes and supports specialized loan servicing activities and loan maintenance functions. Responsibilities include updating borrower and investor information, processing investor transfers and balance adjustments, maintaining loan records following assumptions and modifications, and completing servicing activities related to Successors in Interest, Power of Attorney requests, Third Party Authorizations, borrower information updates, homeowner association activities, and FHA Payment Supplement Agreements. The position also processes specialized servicing functions including MERS updates, NetDeposit transactions, reconveyances, GNMA repurchases, deferred down payment programs, first-time homebuyer programs, law enforcement grant programs, and Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) protections.
The Special Loans Analyst I serves borrowers through professional telephone, email, voicemail, and in-person interactions. This role assists walk-in customers, answers mortgage servicing inquiries, accepts payments, routes requests to appropriate departments, and ensures all customer interactions are accurately documented within the system of record. The position also assists with written and digital borrower credit disputes in accordance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) guidelines.
The Special Loans Analyst I provides operational support to the Mortgage Servicing team by assisting as a backup for new loan boarding audit reviews and supporting management with research, audit responses, and the development and maintenance of department operating procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with at least three years of customer service, mortgage servicing, or call center experience. Bilingual Spanish is also highly preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer proficiency, a basic understanding of mortgage servicing practices, and strong attention to detail. Candidates must be able to effectively prioritize work, adapt to changing demands, and maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.
