Job summary

Resource Options (ROI) in New York seeks a Special Inspector to join a growing jobsite monitoring division serving the NYC area. You will perform MEP and architectural inspections, ensure code compliance, and prepare detailed reports while coordinating milestones with contractors.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture (MEP preferred), ICC Commercial Mechanical Certification, and 2+ years of field inspection experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture (MEP preferred).
• ICC Commercial Mechanical Certification.
• Minimum 2+ years of engineering and Special Inspections experience.
• On-site inspection and adherence to drawings, specs, and inspection plans.
• Knowledge of local codes and governing agencies.

• Ability to manage field activities and reporting.
• Safety-first mindset per standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MEP and architectural inspections on works throughout and surrounding New York City, in accordance with applicable code
• Guarantee seamless project delivery
• Manage and deliver all milestones through each project life cycle
• Prepare and execute accurate detailed reporting and associated documentation timely

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or architecture (mechanical engineering preferred)
• ICC Commercial Mechanical Certification
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in engineering and Special Inspections
• Expertise working onsite and conforming to drawings, specifications, and the inspection plan(s)
• Strong familiarity with local code requirements and associated governing agencies
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
• Excellent planning, organization, and detail orientation skills
• Experience working with contractors, time frame management and industry applied methods
• Maintain safety at all times, and perform work in compliance with local and federal standards.
