Job summary

Wind Creek Bethlehem is seeking a Special Events Specialist to support the Promotions Manager in executing all promotional and special events across Wind Creek Hospitality Properties. The role requires strong guest service focus, effective English communication, and a team-oriented approach.

You will assist with event staffing, vendor coordination, and the preparation of communications, while maintaining up-to-date promotional collateral and digital media.

Qualifications

• Six months customer service experience required.
• Six months casino experience preferred.
• Must pass an interview panel assessing communication and guest services skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong computer skills with word processing experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with execution of promotions and special events for Wind Creek Properties.
• Act as entertainer and mascot for the property.
• Coordinate promotions and events by staffing, vendor contact, and equipment/supply tracking.
• Keep promotional collateral and Digital Media up to date at the property.
• Provide excellent guest services based on the 3 Keys and GET.
• Complete paperwork and reporting for promotion winners (IRS forms).
• Help develop new and exciting promotions and fill in for Coordinator when unavailable.

Description

The Special Events Specialist assists the Promotions Manager in the aspect of execution of all promotional and special events for Wind Creek Hospitality Properties.

Minimum Employment Requirements

• 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form.
• Interpersonal skills with focused attention on guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
• Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Wind Creek appearance standards.
• Maintain consistent adherence to Wind Creek's customer service standards.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements

• Six (6) months Customer Service experience- required
• Six (6) months casino experience- preferred
• Must pass an interview panel regarding communication skills, guest services skills, and obvious demonstration of a naturally outgoing, friendly, helpful personality and positive attitude (job audition will be required)
• Must have excellent organizational skills; strong computer skills with experience in word processing
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication required
• Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team; Must be able to deal effectively with diverse departments, external vendors and agencies, and have flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment

• Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Assists with the execution of promotions and special events for WCH Properties
• Acts as an entertainer and mascot for the property
• Assists with coordinating promotions and special events (New Year's Eve parties and VIP parties etc.) by staffing events, preparing and distributing employee communications, identifying and contacting suitable vendors, placing and tracking equipment and supply purchases and overseeing placement of casino signage
• Keeps promotional collateral and Digital Media at the property up to date
• Offers excellent guest services based on the 3 Keys and GET
• Completes required paperwork and reporting for the promotion winners including winners' releases and IRS 1099 forms
• Helps to develop new and exciting promotions
• Fills in for the Coordinator when they are unavailable
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
