Job summary

Provo City is seeking a part-time Recreation Lead to join the Special Events team at the Provo Recreation Center. You will assist the Special Events Coordinator in preparing for and managing events, plus develop engaging materials and social media content to promote programs to the public.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, some event planning or marketing experience, and a flexible schedule Monday through Saturday.

This position is responsible for assisting the Special Events Coordinator in preparing for, marketing, and managing the various activities and events provided by the Recreation Center to the public. Flexible hours to work around your schedule. Event days are required. Required dates will be discused during the interview. 15 hours per week.What are the physical and environmental factors?This position requires office work and outdoor recreation work with sun and some adverse weather exposure. May include exposure to high-stress situations or environments , including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances. Requires the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.What is the selection process?Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on September 21, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
