Job summary

City of Provo's Recreation Center is seeking a part-time Children’s Art Instructor to run youth art programs for ages 5–13. You will create engaging curricula, promote the course, and lead energetic classes after hours, with 10 scheduled hours per week.

Qualifications

Provo City’s Recreation Center is seeking a part-time community programs art instructor to run youth art programs at the Recreation Center. Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in the recreational services provided to Provo’s residents are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What requirements do I need to apply?

What are the hours?

Hours worked depends on the number of classes you teach. Art class schedule will be set by instructor and supervisor. Evening hours will be required.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work, including standing for extended periods of time, and other varied activities associated with performing the essential duties.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on September 10, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
