Location: The Salvation Army – Columbus, GA Corps

Rate of Pay: $10.00

About this opportunity:
Assists with meeting and special event space setup and breakdown. Ensures all visitors using The Salvation Army property comply with The Salvation Army agreement for the use of space. Maintains a visible presence with visitors using The Salvation Army property for meetings or special events and provides exceptional customer service as a representative of The Salvation Army. Cleans property at the end of meeting and special events ensuring The Salvation Army space is properly maintained and reports any concerns to the Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opens/closes the Community Center in compliance with established operating hours.
  • Remains on-site during rental hours; e nsures the center is properly secured at the end of events.
  • Supervises patrons visiting the Community Center and participating in programs.
  • Ensures renters enter and exit the facility at the agreed upon times, ensures renters stay only in areas reserved for their event.
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Community center facilities and grounds.
  • Reports any injuries to the supervisor immediately and instructs the injured party to complete an incident report.
  • Promotes and communicates stories regarding meeting community needs and spreading the gospel.
  • Sets-up and breaks-down tables and chairs.
  • Sweeps, mops and vacuums floors, as needed. Collects trash and empties trash cans.
  • Record number of participants and spectators at events.
  • Completes and submits monthly statistics form in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for in you:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; AND
  • Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Duties are performed an office and recreational setting. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting ad carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work requires working indoors and outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust. dirt, and the like.
